Cropping Systems and Practices
The technical installation for large-scale experiments

The technical facility for large-scale experimentsPractices and cropping systems is a field facility dedicated to experiments on large plots of land that allow the evaluation of successions of practices and crops.

The experiments are widely instrumented (lisimetric probes, porous candles, GHG enclosures, piezometers, temperature sensors, PAR sensors, capacitive probes) and are monitored according to different criteria:

  • agronomic (population, growth, phenology, diseases, monitoring of weeds and yield),
  • environmental (nitrogen balance, Treatment Frequency Indices, GHG, pesticide residues, etc.),
  • economic (margins, independence from aid, economic efficiency, etc.).

They sometimes take place over long periods of time (there is a Phosphore trial in place since 1969!).
