Agrophen is the field installation of the Unité Expérimentale d'AgroEcologie et Phénotypage des Cultures of Auzeville of the INRAE Occitanie-Toulouse Research Centre.

It allows the implementation of analytical devices in microparticles for the evaluation of varieties/genotypes and cultivation practices.

This facility is widely instrumented and equipped with low and high throughput phenotyping tools. It includes :

  • Soil sensors that assess water stress,
  • A ground-based phenotyping robot equipped with RGB, multispectral sensors and scanning lasers (LiDARs),
  • A UAV that can carry RGB and multispectral sensors.

The offer proposed on this platform can be broken down into several levels :

  • Manual phenotyping: design and implementation of the trial, agricultural management of crops based on the protocol, low-instrumentation measurements, plant or sample sampling, provision of space for sample processing,
  • UAV and Phenotyping: mission design, data acquisition and delivery,
  • Data processing in partnership with Phenome-Emphasis and HiPhen: automated pre-processing, characterisation (content labelling), raw data processing (segmentation and machine learning), statistical analysis and reporting.

Certification

Apave

Agrophen via L'UE APC is certified ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).

The technical facility is also qualified as a Collective Scientific Infrastructure (INRAE) and complies with the INRAE Charter for Research Infrastructures.

All the experiments are carried out under quality assurance (INRAE standard) and ISO 9001 certification is targeted for 2024.
